Preparing for Birth & Baby

4 Week Antenatal Course

Starting Monday 15th June

A calm and supportive antenatal course combining midwife-led education with gentle pregnancy yoga, movement, breathwork and relaxation.

Created to offer realistic preparation, calm support and space to connect with both your baby and yourself before birth, this course is designed to help you feel informed, prepared and supported as you approach birth, baby and the early postpartum period.

Each 90 minute session includes a blend of antenatal education with Helen, registered midwife behind Midwife For You, alongside gentle pregnancy yoga and breathwork guided by Aoife Fingleton from @aoife_yoga 🤍

Aoife has practiced yoga for over 25 years and has been teaching locally for the past 10 years. She completed her pregnancy yoga training with The Elbowroom in Dublin and practiced yoga throughout her own pregnancy, finding it a valuable support both physically and emotionally in preparation for labour, birth and postpartum recovery. Her aim within this course is to provide gentle movement, breathwork and practical tools to help women feel supported, empowered and calm throughout pregnancy and beyond.

Across the 4 weeks we will gently explore:

  • Pregnancy & understanding your baby

  • Preparing for birth & building confidence

  • Labour, birth & coping strategies

  • The fourth trimester, recovery & newborn life

Topics include:

  • Understanding physical and emotional changes in pregnancy

  • Tuning into your baby and changing body

  • Birth options, environment and decision making

  • Labour, pain management and coping strategies

  • Partner support during labour

  • Recovery after vaginal and caesarean birth

  • Feeding, sleep and normal newborn behaviour

  • Preparing for the early days of parenthood in a realistic and supportive way

This course is suitable from 12 weeks pregnant onwards and no previous yoga experience is necessary.

Classes are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 8 women, to allow space for questions, discussion, connection and support in a relaxed environment.

Mats and equipment are provided, however you are very welcome to bring your own mat or supports if preferred. Tea and light refreshments are also included 🤍

Investment €120

Please note this course will run in limited terms throughout the year, with the next planned term expected in September.
